Creative title, I know. I suck at those. Whaat? The Exiles technically ARE the Champions of the Omniverse, aren't they? In a strange, wacky expendable kind of way at least.
And why this? Because Exiles rock. And Sabes happen to be the only one I tend to draw at least half resembling his original self...
Even though this wasn't actually any sudden surge of inspiration. This concept has been lying on my desk and in my head for about a year now and actually does have other Exiles in it as well. I have Sage, Spark, Banshee and Mystiq pretty much fleshed out and I'm actually toying with the idea of turning them to life. I sort of like that soft squishy new technique I managed to learn with this piece...
That's the only thing though I managed to get right though. For a second, I thought I might finally have a solid grip on my skill as well. Then I failed again. So. Many. Damn. Errors. >< Oh well. I still have miles of progress ahead of me, I suppose. Better get going then.
I managed to record the process, so if my computer agrees with me and you're interested, I'll later post a video of my errors for everyone to possibly avoid. And maybe some helpful things to learn from. Hopefully, there are some.
Oh, and by the way, I managed to move the comic quite a deal over my holiday. I decided to update the way I did the prologue: scene-by-scene instead of page-by-page to make it easier for you to follow. Next update should be... wait for it... seven pages long. Yay.
And now if you'll excuse me, I'll go drop to bed dead to be fresh enough in the morning to bite through my mail and newsbox messages gathered over the course of my vacation.
